I'm trying to use a button controller to control my Soma Shades. I.e. press button 1 to open and press button 2 to close, etc. I've tried a few automation rules but none of them want to recognize the shade. They only show switches. Has anyone used a button controller for a shade? Any suggestions. BTW, Shade is using Soma zigbee driver via HPM and button controller is also zigbee. I can control the shade via HE, but I'm trying to make it even easier. thanks
Can you share a screenshot of one of the button controller rules you tried?
I've been trying to use basic button controller for automation. I have the latest s/w installed but really don't know if it's 5.1. I'll look on the site to figure out how to find the versions. Did you use basic button controller or are you using Rules Machine. I've avoided Rules Machine because it's to hard for me. Based on your screen shots, I just created a virtual button but I'm still stuck since my drop down options don;'t include shade related items.
I just found the automation app called (button controller) and it shows 5.1 like yours. I was using (basic button) version. thanks for the guidance.
In your screenshot it looks like you’ve already selected the “turn on” action, which is why the UI is only showing you switches. It’s filtering the devices based on the type of action you previously selected.
If you instead select a different action, like adjust shades, that should do what you want.
Adjust shades was never listed as an option because I was using "basic button controller". when I switched to "button controller", then shades became an option. Everything works now. Thanks for reaching out.
