[SOLVED] Using Email Address and Subject or Body Text

Does HE have a way of reading an email address with either the Subject or Body Text? I have a mailbox unit that sends out an email from a specific address with a specific text in the subject. It also sends out a SMS message to my phone.
Can HE recognize either of these so I can have some sort of speech or a color bulb show the mail has arrived? thanks

Doubt it, but pushover will alert you via a secret email address.

If you use Gmail, you can do that with IFTTT or Stringify.

I use gmail. How would I use IFTTT? Stringify looks like a very sophisticated app?

I use Stringify, it's not all that complicated. And there are tutorials on IFTTT on how to build an applet. You just have to add the Gmail service.

Thanks I will take a look at the tutorial. I may be using Stringify if IFTTT doesn't work.

Well unfortunately IFTTT does not have a hubitat trigger that is available.. I put in a suggestion but don't know what they will do.
So maybe the Stringify would be better. Any suggestions on how to use that app?

Pushover.

Is there a cost for this, I thought I saw that somewhere. Is it easy to use. I just want something simple to tell me the mail is here but maybe that does not exist. thanks

Buy pushover once. That's it. I had previously bought it 5 years ago. Works for multiple devices too.

Very easy. I get notifications for garage doors being open and shut. It's the built-in pushover integration.

I don't have IFTTT integrated with Hubitat at the moment but his should be doable.

The "This" should be through the gmail Applet.
The "That" should be through the Hubitat Applet.

As in, if this gmail email is received then turn on this Hubitat virtual switch.
Of course you would have to create the virtual switch in advance and include it in the IFTTT HE app.

@mike, while I agree that Pushover is a great app for notifications, razorwing is looking for something to give him audio/light alerts.

You could use ms outlook to run a batch script when the relevant email comes in.
Then use ‘maker api’ to turn on a switch.
This switch can then be used to trigger any TTS app

I have a script checking a mailbox every 5 minutes.
If an email arrives then an HE virtual switch is triggered.
Then: “The Service Desk Has Received An Email” is blasted through my speakers.

I don’t use outlook to run my script but I believe @Royski does.

What do you mean IFTTT doesn't have a Hubitat trigger? The trigger will be Gmail.

I have tried several times to set up a connection between IFTTT and HE but when I look for a trigger there is no gmail to select from.
I created a virtual switch in HE. I created a new gmail address. I loaded the IFTTT App in HE and selected a light. It ignored the chromecast devices.
So I am not sure what to do from here because there is no trigger for gmail in IFTTT for HE. Any help is appreciated. thanks

OK, I finally got a connection between IFTTT, GMail and HE. I have it set up to turn on a light if I get an email from the mail service connected to my mailbox alert!! Finally! Thanks everyone.
