Disabled the skill in Alexa, removed all HE devices from Alexa, removed Alexa App from HE (the skill one).
Then, added the HE App, selected just one switch and then went to Alexa to enable skill and it got me that error message.
Will try again soon...
The "Amazon Echo Skill" App should not need to be manually installed. By going into the Alexa App on your phone, and enabling the Hubitat Skill, the "Amazon Echo Skill" App should be automatically installed on your hub. For this to work, your hub must be registered properly with Hubitat cloud server. A quick email to support@hubitat.com will have things sorted out quickly.
Did you try this via desktop? Had the same issue, try it via the Alexa app and it works fine.
Please check your private messages before you try again.
You do have the same issue. Your hub appears not to be connected to the cloud. Please go to Settings and click Shutdown, then unplug the power cord for 30 seconds before you plug it back in. If the problem persists, please let me know.
Yep, it was cloud connectivity. Earlier in the day I had moved my router IP from .1 to .254
Thank you
Solved here by following the advice above although I did not make any network changes. Will make sure to give the Hub an assigned IP.
Thanks!
I'm having this same problem, and shutting the hub down didn't seem to fix it. The skill was working successfully for me for some time, and then just stopped working today. I tried to disable and re-link to fix it, and get the linking unsuccessful error each time. Any other ideas besides shutting down? Has anything changed in the last 3 years that would affect how this works?
Thanks!
Right now AWS is experiencing "issues"...
Thanks - good to hear it's not just me.
This is so frustrating. Do we know is Amazon is doing anything about this
According to their support, they are doing everything they can, but there is no ETA when it will be resolved.
