Question on the Bosch.
I think the Bosch ones are made for triggering alarm, not for occupancy light control.
My non-smart Bosch motion detectors from previous security system use PIR and microwave with multi-stage detection to confirm, it's slow in sending the signal (I have them connected Zooz Zen17 relay). I actually prefer this for my alarm purpose than other motion detectors.
Is it the same from your zigbee version?
I'm more interested in the more expensive one.
The same as in slow?
I have intermittent slowness with everything so hard to tell.
It sounds like the same technology with a Zigbee radio.
The Bosch motion detector for security alarm I have will first show yellow, green or both LED depends on it detected motion by PIR or microwave.
It then changes to red when further motion is confirmed which usually takes more than 1 or even a few seconds. Or it will cancel out the LED if no motion cannot be confirmed.
Only on Red, it triggers the output (NC -> open). So, it can't be used for occupancy lighting unless could make it trigger the output once PIR or microwave detected movement which is rather quick.
With proper setup, I can confirm that the sensor is not slow at all. It senses my first step into the living room every morning. In fact, they call it First Step Processing Technology. However, that sensor is a textbook example - corner of a large room, 7.5' height, initial motion typically left/right, no vents or other complications nearby.
Our other sensor was positioned for convenience over function - too low, middle of a wall between rooms, points at HVAC, fireplace, and furniture that animals jump on. It is marginal as an automation trigger, but its performance is entirely consistent with their published detection zones. It is just poorly applied.
My DS835, over 15 years old from previous owner, are also TriTech detectors, but seems have different processing behavior.
Found there is a pin switch for Intermediate sensitivity for detecting smaller change, will see if that makes any difference
I admit that I have no experience with their legacy wired systems, but does sound like there are at least differences in the way that they adjust. Hopefully you found the key to having it perform as you wish.

The tab is still in place

I believe it is 81 inches. I mounted it at the same height as the PIR detector in the house (from the Alarm I no longer use, but can't figure out how to get it off their system and reuse it in mine.. They claim it is Zwave) I was actually considering just taking it down and replacing it with one of these Bosch sensor, but I'm not sure i would be able to get it past the WAF.
