I have had an old Radio Shack blister-pack soldering iron since the early 1980's. I had a $50 Radio Shack gift card collecting dust for years, and cashed it in a few days before they announced their bankruptcy for a Radio Shack digital soldering station. It works for what I need it for.
Hakko seems to be the popular choice for soldering stations these days, with a disclaimer that I've never used one.....
