Soldering Iron Recommendations

I solder a bunch more now than I used to ever since I started down the addressable LED rabbit hole, but I still wouldn't say I'm doing it regularly. As such, I got a TS-80 USB quickcharge powered iron that I've fallen in love with. You can plug it into the wall for tabletop work or you can get a quickcharge compatible powerpack and solder outside if you want. I wouldn't recommend soldering connections up on a ladder, but I'm also not going to say it's never been done...

I certainly won't be repairing any MacBooks with it or doing any serious SMD jobs, but it's been a lifesaver for me. It can do through hole stuff adequately, but you might want a bit more power if you're working with sizeable ground planes.
