Very interesting. I remember a small AV company called Zobo.tv got started in Charlotte and had good success. They branched into wholesale forming SnapAV since they had some unique speaker and furniture lines and a few years later closed their retail stores. Fast forward 10 or so years and they are buying Control4. Crazy.
