I have Smartwings day/night cellular blinds. I tried BOTH the Zwave inclusion and the Smartstart to link to Hubitat. I downloaded and use the Smartwings day/night driver from the Hubitat community. I authorized it in the Alexa Integration and then Alexa links it. The blinds work with voice both up and down but Alexa reports blind may be offline even though it works. I tried setting the position to 99% and no luck there either. I wish I had known abut the Zigbee option working before I ordered 21 blinds! Anyone solve this?
I had a similar experience with some Smartwings zwave drapes; turned out they had shipped me a engine with the wrong frequenzy. They sent me a new one pretty fast and free.
So I'm using both ZW and Matter Smartwings shades, and both seem to work fine (perhaps the Matter one's respond slightly faster...).
But from you original post, I'm unclear exactly what the problem is. - Given you tried both the standard Mesh inclusion and SmartStart I'm assuming you DID get the device provisioned onto your hub, that worked OK?
Before getting into Alexa stuff, can you control the shade from the HE device interface - Aka Open/Close/Set Position? Is all that working, or not?
Are you dealing with one shade at a time, or working with a group (that makes things a bit more complex).
So ZW does indeed work, and it can work with Alexa, I'm just unclear on what exactly you need help "solving"
What I am trying to solve is Alexa reporting the blind is offline. I have 21 blinds and hearing the error 21 time is not pleasant. Plus there is no way to know if there really is one of them offline!
The HE responds okay. Do you think SmartStart or regular mesh is better? I also have the Smartwings build in driver and the generic zwave blind driver.
LATEST: I changed back to the Generic DT Z-Wave Window Covering Driver and the blinds work up and down now with Alexa but Alexa still reports offline even though they raise and lower correctly.
