Since samsung discontinued the multi-purpose sensor, does anyone have a good alternative? They were so handy cause they were cheap and would act as a contact sensor, temperature sensor and acceleration sensor. They were great for little automations that you didn't want to invest a lot of money into and one sensor could be used as many different sensors and repurposed.
Aeotec have taken over ST
Oh that's interesting!
Still looking for multipurpose sensor alternatives.
Are you looking for an alternative to the Aeotec (formerly Smartthings) multipurpose sensor?
I'm planning on replacing my multipurpose sensor with an Ecolink when the battery dies again. I'm using mine on my garage door, and it's been pretty good there.
Did you have a particular use in mind? I'm not aware of any other devices that combine the exact capabilities of the SmartThings Multisensor in a single device with a similar form factor. There are lots of sensors that do contact and temperature, if that's what you're after. (The fact that these report temperature was a much bigger deal at the time when the first-generation ST sensors were introduced than it is now, where most contact and motion sensors and many other devices also have temperature built in.) I know a few motion sensors also report vibration or tamper, though not necessarily in a way as flexible as the ST sensor. Most of these are also Z-Wave. The Aeon Multi 6 and Fibaro motion sensor come to mind, and I think some Zooz models may also fit the bill. Some contact sensors, besides contact and temperature, can also report "tamper," but usually just from a tab/button on the bottom to see if it gets removed from the door/window or an internal tab if the cover gets removed (the gigantic HomeSeer contact sensor is one example of this).
But maybe Aeon will have them for sale again in the US soon. It seems like they were planning on that for at least Europe soon...
