Smartthings Motion Sensor has become super sensitive

I have several Smartthings motion sensors. Ever since the most recent Hubitat update to 2.3.4.130, the sensor at one end of my balcony has become super sensitive. It will now detect motion 50 ft away in my bedroom at the opposite end of the balcony. That means if I get out of bed in the middle of the night, the sensor will detect motion, activity on the balcony will be announced and the balcony lights are turned on. That is most disconcerting. Until recently, the sensor did not pick up motion until 10-15 feet away, which was ideal. The cats never triggered the sensor, but now they do.

The device is currently functioning using a generic motion sensor driver which does not have any provision for setting motion sensitivity.

It has been so long that I set up the Smartthings motion sensors, I do not remember whether they always used the generic motion sensor driver or whether there was a specific Smartthings driver. Did the recent update change to a generic driver lacking sensitivity settings?

Does anyone have any idea why the sensitivity of my motion sensor might have increased so dramatically? What can I do to remedy the extreme sensitivity issue other than replacing the sensor?

This is true for all the later units.

None of the ST motions have sensitivity settings.

I don't think there was anything in the latest release that would account for this change. I suspect it may be the device itself. I wonder if a factory reset of the device followed by re-pairing it would help? If you don't remove it first when you re-pair it will slide right back into the same slot and no rules should be affected.

Thanks for the feedback from both of you. Since it is likely to be an issue with that one specific sensor, I will try to swap it with another sensor that is in a less critical position. The high level of sensitivity will be less of an issue in some other locations.

FWIW.
I have found that when ST motion sensor batteries (V2 2450 cell?) start to die the active events rapidly increase almost like there is a ghost walking the halls. Eventually they will stick active forever, in my observance, so maybe the battery is starting to get weak?

The battery was starting to get low, so maybe you are correct, but it seems like the device is burning through batteries more quickly than normal, so something else might be failing as well.
