For folks looking to ditch their MyQ GDO these days, those are some good deals on the Zen16 and Zen17
Since you mentioned the ZEN16/ZEN17, can someone summarize the biggest difference between them? They both seem to handle garage doors but I'm sure there is something I'm missing for when a ZEN17 would be used instead of the ZEN16.
Unlike the Z16, the Z17 can separate the relays' inputs and outputs to use the sensor/sw terminals for monitoring only. That's the big difference.
That was important to me because I wanted to use 2 wired (dumb) reed sensors to track my door position, so the Z17 allows me to do that.
If you're just going to use a battery-powered smart tilt-sensor for position instead, either the 17 or 16 will work great. In that case, the various GDO apps and setup-related tricks for the Z16 all translate fine to the Z17 too.
If it's important to you, the Z17 is also 700-series (vs the 500-series Z16).
Thanks for the quick (and clear) reply.
