Smart Start not visible in the Android app

My problem is easy to describe:

Smart Start cannot be found in the Android mobile app 2.1.0. I do not see it in any menu. It does not appear in the Add Z-Wave Device process. App has camera access.

No doubt there is a simple explanation, too. Who can tell me what it is?

Hubitat C-8
Platform 2.4.0.151
Connected by Ethernet

The ability to use SS requires the app to be on your local network (i.e. connected via wifi, not cellular).

Are you on your local network now? I don't use Android, but in the iOS app, if you go to the "Home" page in the app, it says near the top if you are "Local" or "Cloud" in terms of connection -- if it says "Cloud", then SS will not available. If it says "Local", then you should be able to use SS.

Looks like this in the Android app, though it should say (Local) where it says (Cloud) in my screenshot. (I'm out walking the dogs right now.)

When I had this problem in Android, removing and then reinstalling the app cured it.

edit: Although, it's just a plus sign on the device tab. Easy to miss.

Deleted app. Reinstalled. No change.

Menu/Devices/+Add Devices/Z-Wave

No Smart Start. Just + Start Z-Wave Inclusion and - Start Exclusion.

Somebody share a screenshot of the app screen with a Smart Start button, please. The phrase Smart Start is not to be found anywhere in my app install. Apparently ZE 800 LR devices require it.

Easy to miss.
It's the plus sign on the devices tab:

Thanks, @velvetfoot

So far, so good. When you press +, what do you get? Particularly, how do you begin Smart Start? When I press +, I get the screen I posted above. No Smart Start.

I'll try.
Just be forewarned, I don't have Android anymore, this is on an iPhone.
Same as on Android though, far as I can recall.

After hitting the plus sign:

Then this pops up after hitting Add Smart Start Devices:

What you're showing here is not the app - that's just the web page in mobile view. SmartStart requires the app.

I'm using the app. When I select Devices from the app menu, it opens the webpage.

You never said if your app is "Local" or "Cloud" connected per the explanation above: Smart Start not visible in the Android app - #3 by danabw

There is also no "Menu", it just is a devices ICON at the bottom.
It also does not say "+Add Devices", it is just a "+" as shown above.

Yup. Not on my Android.

I am connected locally.

(ON my Android app 2.1.1 the + is on the right side, not sure when it changed
iOS app still is on the left)

The fact that Camera has permission is a positive.

Now, if you hit "Add Other Devices", after you hit the plus sign, that also gets you where you are, ie, not where you want to be.

Screenshot: Menu

When I select Devices, the app opens a web page. See +Add Devices button:

Thats the web UI, not the app. Whatever you clicked to get there is not what I showed above. If you click on certain things in the app it opens the web UI within the app.

I provided step by step screenshots above.

I have an Android tablet and an iPhone right here, I tested both flows.

You need to tap on the devices icon, at the bottom of the screen when the app is open, which @jtp10181 and @velvetfoot highlighted in screenshots above:

Until you do that, you won’t find the droids you’re looking for.

And as Jeff noted above, the plus sign to add devices has moved to the right side of the devices tab in the most current version of the Android app.
