Had a Govee that worked great until they recalled them for causing fires. While a house fire WILL heat up your home, some people found it to be a bit much.
Anyway... Any other options for a space heater than can be controlled via Hubitat? Yes, I know I can plug a really dumb heater into a device rated for the load, but the cool thing about the Govee is being able to change the set point, fan speed, maximum length of operation etc. I had a few rules built around those capabilities.
I use the dumb heater into a device rated for the load method. I can change the setpoint and max length of runtime using RM rules and a virtual thermostat. I can't change fan speed as that is a mechanical switch.
I believe I saw some window units that also have heat capability and Alexa integration. Not sure I would want to rely on a cloud connection though. If you can find a unit with a IR or RF remote you could go with the bond or broadlink hub.
No. I just bought a lower watt (1000) watt heater and plugged it into a zigbee outlet that can handle 13 amps. I miss that Govee heater as I had so much control over it. Fan speed, temperature setting etc.
Which could be integrated (in a somewhat limited fashion: on/off, fan speeds) with Alexa automations, and HE virtual devices. - Definitely cloud based however, which is something to consider around a heater..
Personally, I like the remote IR option, and use a local bond controller..
Seems like Matter versions of these should exist by this point...
