Smart lock and thermostat

Hi all,

I switched to Hubitat a few weeks ago and I am pretty happy with all xiaomi zigbee devices working fine. Now I will be moving into a home with forced air heating and cooling. So I thoughts it is the perfect time to get smart thermostat and I would like to hear about your experiences.
Main goal: change temperature based on time and location (presence and or geofence with the phone). Also it would be great if it integrates with Hubitat.

Next thing is the door. Any recommendations for a reliable device which works with hubitat?

Thanks in advance!
Robin

I just purchased the Lux Konoz from Johnson Controls, it's a zigbee device with "modern" styling. Be warned it was just released and may have some "issues" that need to be worked out with HE driver for it.

The Go Control is z-wave and also a very well reviewed model and is quite a bit cheaper if you like the styling (I find it kind of FUGLY).

The Nest is also a great thermostat, but it doesn't integrate directly with HE but you can control it using google assistant.

Centralite Pearl (zigbee) is also well reviewed, but Centralite is going out of business so availability and warranty may be an issue in the future.

GoControl GC-TBZ48 is my go-to zwave plus thermostat. Works perfectly, and is cost effective.

But the longer answer really has more to do with what you want. Do you want programming/schedules ON the thermostat? Do you need/want remote sensors? Do you have a humidifier you need to control? Etc.

Hi, thanks for the device list. It seems the Konoz is interesting since it integrates well into HE. Will it control also the humidifier? I just realized that there is a panel for the humidity level next to the thermostat.

Highly recommend a zigbee lock. I had a Schlage BE469 z-wave lock (known to be an issue with HE Hub, but is being worked on as we speak) and switched it out for a Kwikset 914. Haven't has an issue since.

I want to control the temperature based on time AND Geolocation (away, home). I found a humidifier panel next to the thermostat. So in case it can be controlled as well, that would be great.

I didn't see anything in the settings or on the product page that would indicate that it has this ability.

If the humidity is controlled at the thermostat, and not just a local controller at the HVAC unit, your options are very limited. So that would be the first thing to determine.

Time and presence are two things that can be set in the Thermostat Scheduler app. Geofencing is for presence. Mode manager switches modes based on presence. Thermostat Scheduler has an option for the "Away" mode. It works because that is what I am using.

As for thermostats, I had an Iris compatible CT101 Radio Thermostat which used Z-Wave. It was having some issues so I just replaced it with a Zen Zigbee Edition thermostat. I could have paid about $200 from Zen but I looked and found one for much less (new at that) on eBay. Here is a link:

I have been very happy with it. It is behaving well and is very attractive.

My Hubitat is on order and the wife wants a smart lock for our front door so I've been starting to research locks and ran across the Keywe. It is now available on Amazon for $155 which seems like a good price for all the features and it seems like the driver issues have been fixed with Hubitat very recently.

I looked at the Kwikset 914 but those seem to look dated and those buttons will inevitably have the numbers rubbed off. Also seems to be a little more expensive. Any others to look at?
