If I'd like to start a lightning scene pushed from Alexa, I think it is better to integrate all the functions in hubitat, and then call ONE voice command from Alexa, to begin this multiple functions that hubitat will manage, right? Instead of setting all the functions directly in Alexa, which is also possible theoretically. Correct?
And for doing that, I read that a virtual button is necessary? Or what is the best way?
Up to now, I created a virtual button device. Then, this button device will do all the functions that I need. Looks like working. But how do I call that from Alexa? I shared the "virtual" button, but it is not visible in Alexa. Need some clarification
How do you create lightning management? For example, I'd like to have warm light during the evening for example, and more bright during the day. I was able to do that, but honestly, I'm not sure if I did in the right way. Could you check below, please?
Instead of a Virtual Button device, try using a Virtual Switch. A virtual switch can be exposed to the Alexa Skill, and the activated by an Alexa Routine. The virtual switch can be configured to automatically turn itself off, thereby making it ready for the next time the Alexa Routine is triggered.
Yes, you’re on the right track. Have you set up the Mode Manager App on your hub, yet? You’ll need something to change the “mode” of your hub based on time of day, or other events as you see fit. Read the documentation for Mode Manager on the Hubitat Documents site.
Yes I set "day, evening and night", related to the function connected to the lightning, it works good.
If I switch light on during the day, they turn white. If I turn on during the evening, they turn warm.
It looks a bit confusion, so I was asking if it is the right way to do this job. Ok fine
Good to know for Alexa! Just tested, works pretty well.
