Smart Downlights or inline dimmers?

Oh thats really good. I have a budget of around 6K but that includes lighting, motion sensors, aircon control, cameras and samsung door lock

When you make a change from outside the hub or even with the hub in this devices case, it then responds to the hub to update its state. This keeps everything in sync, so is it currently On or Off and what level is it at, they are all states and as Hubitat is a event driven system they are very important. The event is that it turned ON or OFF the state is that it is now ON or OFF. If you have a rule that has a event that then uses a state to decide what it should do you need to know what that is.

I have a rule that i trigger from a switch, if the state of the device is OFF turn ON else turn OFF. So when it runs 1st the state changes and it should update but the duel nano switch is so slow, that if you run the rule again within a few seconds it does nothing because it hasn't updated its state yet.

You might have issues in your z-wave mesh as I dont have this issue at all. FWIW I have 6x dual-nanos, 4x nano-dimmers and 5x nano-switches. (out of about 40 zwave devices in total).

I have some Ikea GU10 on my HUE hub and they work fine 99% of the time, they do occasionally drop off though and I have to power them off and on again whereas the HUE bulbs on the HUE hub are rock solid. I have moved the GU10 to less critical locations (so not the kitchen etc)

Not possible in this case and it's a known reported issue with the device, it's just slow at updating its status. Mike said he noted it when he did the driver. I also have the non energy measurement version and that doesn't seem to get much love so it's possible it's just not been fixed because nobody has reported it aeotec.

This device is in the same room as the hub and directly connected to it. The rest of the device (all powered) are all around the hub and up 2 floors working perfectly zero delay. The room in question also has the most amount of devices as repeaters, 5 including the duel.

I currently use Hue dimmer switches but as far as I know they don’t come in black. I am also toying with the idea of getting a Lutron Pro hub and use their wireless switches. I know of one person here in NZ that’s using Lutron like that. The Americans are raving about how reliable Lutron and its HE integration is so I just have to give it a go

You can assign any button any function in HE. On one of my Hue switches I’ve currently got one button set to open the garage door. So colour will be no issue for you
