Slow rule trigger

Hi All,

I’m in the process of looking at rules triggering slowly (I think). I’ve tested the switches on and off without any delay however when the automation rule triggers I might see a delay of about a minute.

Has anyone else experienced this since the latest updates ?

I’ve not actually added any new rules so I don’t believe it’s anything causing high CPU.

Thanks

Any errors in your logs? What do the app and device stats reports show? Anything hogging cpu?

Thats the thing app usage looks fine, devices are fine and I haven’t actually changed anything so very strange.

I just shut the hub down and pulled the plug, it appears to be ok at the moment but will monitor

I had a similar issue a few times. One of the times a Hubitat support agent found that I had a rogue, and failing, install of an application that was causing my issues. I had to remove the app and associated drivers. When that didn’t work, we reset the router and restored a backup, then removed the app and driver again, and rebooted then everything worked. The exact details I am fuzzy on, but I think i had orphaned code running and to release it we had to go through those processes. The underlying source of the issue was that the drivers and app could not talk to the devices on the network, and would time out. Those errors and timeouts were causing the issues. If you have WiFi devices that are not accessible at times, this can cause slowness.

I think the latest version might sort the problem. Looks like RM had some bugs in the latest release, that would make sense since the hub has been working perfectly.

I’ll report back the results over the next few days.
