Siren Strobe choices

Greetings,

Thank you everyone for the intense help you have provided to all of us folks out here!
Read for quite a bit, searched on various words, with no luck.
So........... I (also) am a long time Wink convert, and I am so glad! Love Hubitat.
Problem: It seems I cannot select (just) either "strobe" OR "siren", as a choice. (it is Linear/Vision device).
Under "Device", "List" properties, buttons are shown, which work, to turn on / off strobe, and /or alarm. However, under the device "Preferences", "What should the on command turn on?". It is only siren, OR strobe OR both.
How can I (like from the old Wink interface) have one event (say open door) trigger just the strobe, while another (say - open window) trigger the siren?

There are certainly multiple ways to do this, but one would be to use Rule Machine to have a rule trigger on the door or window opening.

The actions could then be to either start a strobe or a siren.

Does that help?

Hmmmmm... under Rule Manager, Select actions: "select actions to run"....
Cant find the right choices.............

Can you share the device driver you are using for your siren?

I looked at device properties, etc. I cannot figure how to pull up the driver properties.
I fully suspect, being a device I purchased from the Wink era, which ran perfect, the driver will be super ancient. Prob why the "properties" won't allow separate choices.

You will find the driver under the device tab, scroll to “Type” like below:

With the Dome Siren, here is how I would set this up in Rule Machine (RM), and would select one of the options from the drop-down in the screenshot (no parameter is required) :

Looks like you can select it by choosing “Actuator”. That should allow you to chose one of the available options:

Glad to hear it worked! Lots of trial and error! I also migrated from Wink, a little while back. I have added a lot of sensors and switches since then, and created a lot of automation! Had a lot of help from the community!
