Show Off Your Dashboards!

Do you mean there is an app in webcore that allows you to connect to and catalog your music files?

Hubitat can’t catalog your music library for you, afaik, with or without WebCoRE.

But if your music is playing on a device that can integrate with Hubitat as a music player, then the music track metadata can be viewed in dashboard tiles.

That includes details like song title, album, cover art, etc, it depends what source you’re using for music, what metadata it includes, and what Hubitat driver is used.

Thank you. I am going to need to look into webcore. I just am learning the details of Rule Machine.

Kodi is my music hub (on a RPi). I use webcore HTTP commands with Kodi to do everything music related in my system. I use HD+ to get lots of that information to my dashboards. It sounds like an arduous process, but it is not.

You will find a vast, helpful webcore community here.

I definitely like the functionality of what I am seeing. Will do it at some point.

Here is a snapshot of our central dashboard running on the iPad in our foyer. I developed this custom application to aggregate data from my other apps into a single interface. It provides the family with a true central hub, eliminating the need to toggle between multiple apps to find what they need.

By leveraging Hubitat’s cloud integration, I was also able to deploy this as an installed mobile app for every family member. It has truly been a game-changer for the usability and adoption of our smart home setup.

Made a few improvements over the past couple days to the dashboard.

I think I finally have this looking like I want.
Most of the tiles were created using Tile Master.

Working on Hestia, a new smart home dashboard for Hubitat. This is currently in the testing phase after its recent launch.

The primary goals for Hestia are:

  • To create a central dashboard experience that resides entirely within Hubitat.
  • To eliminate the need for third-party applications or additional hardware, integrating solely via MakerAPI.
  • To provide a simple, high-WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) design, making it a straightforward, "plug-and-play" solution without significant complexity.

The next phases include:

  • Including security panel features to monitor contact sensors, freeze sensors, smoke/co detectors, control door locks and integrate with HSM

More details are available on the Hubitat community post: https://community.hubitat.com/t/hestia-a-new-smart-home-dashboard-for-hubitat/162853

The android version:

I am primarily a backend developer and am UI impaired. So copilot has been a big help!

I also use HD+ for my dashboard and am interested in your music control... I use Alexa speakers throughout the house for playing music - is there a way to show song name/artist as well as control volume from HD+ tiles !!!???

I love this. HOW did you do this. I know NOTHING about programming/coding. Is this possible for someone like that to do?

Absolutely, with one caveat. I use HD+, Echo Speaks, and webcore extensively for music operations in my home. I have struggled for a LONG time with Amazon when dealing with music metadata. In my experience, retrieving metadata from Amazon has been quite slow, such as when changing to a new song. Often, there is a 10-30 seconds delay for updated information. This may be a product of the Echo Speaks integration with Hubitat and webcore. I have tried MANY different options in an attempt to retrieve song information more rapidly. My results are variable, but are always delayed when compared to the Alexa app or when logged into Amazon music directly. YMMV.

Yes, I do it all throughout my home.

Screenshot of my kitchen pad with volume controls and song data using HD+ on an Amazon Fire HD.

What do you use as the host for Echo Speaks?
I'd rather not pay for Heroku and don't have much experience with linux or Raspberry Pi...

I have several Echo Dots around my home.

That is the crux of the issue. I don't have much experience with Linux either. I use several RPi around my house, but I have never used a container before. There are several posts of instructions on how to do this. But I just pay the $5.

I really like the looks of this one, clean and straight forward.

I will see if I can put together a step by step guide. the AI does all of the work so just have to know how to ask, and what to feed it.
