I just added a second C7.
It is cabled into the same switch as my first C7.
The two hubs are on a shelf above the main Orbi (RB20) router.
The two hubs are about 4 feet apart on the same shelf.
I want to run lights on the new hub, all else on the first hub.
First hub is on channel 20
I set the second hub on channel 15
Both hubs are using UDP under hub mesh settings.
Both hubs see each other and linked devices are viewable on both.
Before I go forward and load a couple laundry baskets full of Sengled lights to the new hub... Dose this setup look legit?
Yes it looks fine.. Zigbee Mesh is "devices to devices" and "devices to hub" via Zigbee wireless protocol, Hub Mesh is inter hub communication via the LAN. Sengled Bulbs do not repeat so all good there.
The only issue may be interference from your WiFi..
Also you do not need to isolate your Sengled bulbs/devices.. they coexist fine with other Zigbee devices. You might consider putting all your Zigbee devices on one hub and Z-Wave on the other (my current setup) OR split the hubs up by location for greater coverage.
Was there a definitive answer as to whether the two hubs should be on a different channel to each other? I am planning to get a second hub and as the wifi in our dense neighborhood is a bit busy I might have problems finding another good channel from the one I already picked for my first. So is it necessary?
My current hub is on 13 and my Hue bridge is on 20. Wifi channel 11... But I have an amplifi mesh and the nodes do what they want (not supposed to but obviously a bit buggy)
The second hub is going to be an Aqara and Tradfri repeater specialist.
