Shelly WiFi Switch

I just got a Shelly WiFi Switch that I plan to use to control a solar powered light (12 volts).

I think I got it to join my wifi network.

I am trying to get it recognized by hubitat. I found a driver online and installed it..

Now what >?

The online threads about this device that I have found so far seem to be endless (400+ entries) and confusing. Is there an easy, step by step guide someplace that can be followed to make this thing work ?

I use the built in driver for two Shelly switch’s and they work great. I have tried the alternative one but for reason or another I couldn’t get the alternative to work.

One tip make sure the switch has a fixed IP address. You don’t want your router randomly changing the IP address.

I'm confused. I just tried the built-in driver and all I see are image and when I set switch I just see options like push and hold. Is there an updated driver?

I'm the developer for that alternate driver. Why couldn't you get it working?

Hi, I can't really put a finger on it...one of the switches would work but the other wouldn't (both on the latest firmware). All the indications within your driver seemed okay it just wouldn't make the relay switch....I tried 4 or 5 times removing and re-adding the switches and the driver but still the same.
They are used to control my 2 garage doors so I don't need bells and whistles just a reliable method of controlling the switches

When you add the built in driver it should create a a child device...you switch it on and off with that.

You may have to remove the parent device and re install it if you have used another driver....I had to do this once.

First, the good news. I managed to get Shelly's own drivers off their Github site and they work fine.

I did get my Shelly dimmer to work using the Hubitat drivers by setting a component as you suggested. The device is indeed a dimmer (green) and I saw the component.

But when I added another Shelly1 as a dimmer I did not see any subcomponent option or any way to turn it on or off. calling it a switch didn't help. So something is strange but since I got it to work with Shelly's own drivers I have a solution for now.

Hi a Shelly 1 isn’t a dimmer it’s a dry contact relay. The Dimmer is a Shelly 2 and is green as you suggest.

Just an FYI...
Scott, @Evilborg wrote the drivers that are on the Shelly github
