I can't get my shelly Plug US wave LR to show? Help please?

Did you use the app to add it within smart start?

Yes I used the app plus followed every step that tech support suggested. Leave unplugged then use smart start a scan QR, then plug it in and hubitat hub never finds it. It says I cant use the S button with long range

Can you elaborate on that? Where does it say that?

And to confirm - when you go to the device screen in the Hubitat’s web interface, you don’t see the device - correct? How much time passed between the time when you completed the smart start process and the time you checked the devices screen?

Did you check also under Z-Wave details to confirm that it hasn’t been added to the bottom of the list? Could you provide a screenshot?

Yes I used the app to add them. I followed the exact directions.

Lights blink
Wait 20 minutes and nothing shows up under devices

After consulting with our Z-Wave expert, please take a look at the steps below:

  1. Long Range (LR) pairing:
  • Add the device’s DSK number to the Smart Start list.

  • Select the option for Long Range.

  • Once added to the list, simply plug the device into the socket, and it will automatically join the controller.

  1. Normal pairing (Mesh):
  • Add the device to the Smart Start list without selecting Long Range.

  • Plug the device in, and it will be added automatically.

Manual inclusion:

  • If you prefer to add the device manually, it cannot be paired via Long Range.

  • Ensure the plug is off, then press and hold the S button to enter inclusion mode. You can then add the device normally, with or without secure inclusion.

I have tried this with three different new plugs now. I was able to add a Shelly 2PM switch with no issue using the same steps

To add a Z-Wave Long Range (Z-Wave LR) device like your Shelly Plug US to Hubitat Elevation, follow these steps from my knowledge base:

  1. Locate the device's DSK QR code, which is usually on a sticker on the back of the device or on the box. Do not power on the device yet.
  2. In the Hubitat mobile app, select "Add Smart Start devices."
  3. Tap "Smart Start," then tap to scan the QR code.
  4. Enter the five-digit PIN (the first five digits found in the QR code) if prompted for S2 security.
  5. Give the device a name and add it to a room.
  6. Once the device is added in the app, power on the device to complete the inclusion process.

This process uses Smart Start, which is the recommended method for adding Z-Wave LR devices to Hubitat Elevation.

It's the only method.. LR does not support classic inclusion.

You may want to run an exclusion on it first (sometimes these devices come already included, likely for testing)...

Not sure how to do exclusion remove with the LR? It only has add.
I have done a hard reset is this as good?
Now I deleted the plug from the add in smart start
I will now unplug it
Scan the QR code
plug the plug in and wait to see if it will show up in hubitat?

Same as mesh devices.. Just start exclusion and then follow the device instructions for exclusion ..

Yes.. If it did hard reset, it should work the same..

If you are on ZWave-JS you can watch z-wave logs for detailed information on what's happening in the background.. Zipgateway it's a lot harder to figure out why..

How do you run exclusion on a LR plug?

Standard exclusion works for LR and mesh devices..

These shelly devices have all kinds of color flashing feedback.. I don't recall what they mean..

Treat it like it is not LR and “add device”, Zwave, start exclusion, then put device in pairing mode.
You should (might) see “unknown device excluded”.

From the device manual:

Removing the Device from a Z-Wave® network (ex-
clusion)
Note! The Device will be removed from your Z-Wave® network, but
any custom configuration parameters will not be erased.
Removing (exclusion) with the S button:
1. Plug the Device into a power socket.
2. Check if the violet LED is blinking in Mode 1. If so, the Device is
added to a Z-Wave® network.
3. Enable add/remove mode on the gateway.
4. To enter the Setting mode, quickly press and hold the S button
on the Device until the LED turns solid blue.
5. Quickly release and then press and hold (> 2s) the S button on
the Device until the blue LED starts blinking in Mode 3. Releasing
the S button will start the Learn mode.
6. The blue LED will be blinking in Mode 2 during the removing
process.
7. The blue LED will be blinking in Mode 1 if the Device is successfully removed from a Z-Wave® network.
Note! In Setting mode, the Device has a timeout of 10s before en-
tering again into Normal mode.

It flashed red purple flashed Purple
Turned Blue and stays blue

I will not try and add it again
I will start smartstart
Scan QR
Plug it in
It flases red purple
Flashes purple
then turns solid blue and stays there

Am I doing something wrong?
