Sharp Tools....why keep subscription?

In SmartThings, there were 2 big limitations that Sharp Tools was the PERFECT solution to:

  1. more complex rules engine
  2. Dashboards

Now that I have finished up transitioning my devices and rules to HE, I can real quick see that the HE rules engine is just as capable (if not more capable) than the rules capability of SharpTools.

I'm just now dabbeling into the dashboards within HE. From what I can see, there really isn't anything that one could do in a SharpTools dashboard that can't be done locally in a HE Dashboard.

I love to SharpTools and would hate to say goodbye, but at the same time, I think a subscription to sharptools is probably just spending money on a service that is not needed.

For those of you who DO use SharpTools.......I'd love to hear what SharpTools offers that HE doesn't.

I no longer use SharpTools as everything running locally is important to me (it’s unusual but the 3 hour internet outage we had yesterday hammered this home). I never used rules within SharpTools always Rule Machine. I now fully rely on Joe Page’s HD+ for my dashboards. I will say that when I used SharpTools there was some cool stuff I could do that’s unavailable elsewhere. A few times I had an idea and Josh and the team just came up with some custom tile to achieve what I wanted (my favorite was tile that when clicked located and played the local weather video report from YouTube using the API despite its ever changing address)

Wish this was available for iPhone

I do all my rules in HE RM because endless possibilities and its local. But I use Sharptools dashboard because of all the available customizations. Supertiles, gauges, notifications, icons, etc...

So that dashboard you posted is your sharptools dashboard? House Hub CPU/Memory/Temp?!? I'll have to do some research to see how you pulled those specs! Love it!

Yeah, that's sharptools.
To get hub info there a community driver called "Hub Information Driver v3" which shows up as a device and has those attributes and a lot more

And, yes, I guess I can see for many, the ability to do super tiles is a big selling point for SharpTools. I have made a few super tiles, however, 99.9% of the sharp tools usage on my end is litteraly a super easy way to open and close garage doors or gates via phone for myself and my wife.

SharpTools is definatly an easier solution to make a "pretty" looking dashboard. But seems I can make just as functional of one in HE for my applicaiton
