Sharp tools error

I should explain that I have been using Hubitat for many years but in a fairly basic set up. I did replace some Zigbee switches recently, so I familiarised myself with the set up again and had no real problem. Shortly after that I woke to the fact that various devices had not switched on which use 'Simple Automation'
On going through "Logs" I found a number of errors, "Code 401 , Error sending event to Sharp Tools, Unauthorised".
I have no previous recollection of using the Sharp Tools app for anything, so I deleted these events, rebooted and everything was working again.
Until this morning, when the same thing has occurred.
I would be grateful if someone could explain why this is happening and what I can do to stop it happening. Should I, for instance, delete the Sharp Tools app or will this affect something else?

@josh

Do you mean that the SharpTools app is installed on your hub but you have never used SharpTools to create a dashboard?

If you don’t use SharpTools, you can remove the app from your hub.

FWIW it’s not clear from what you’ve described so far that the problem you’re having with your simple automation rule(s) has anything to do with the errors in your hub logs re: SharpTools.

Do you see any log entries for the automations that aren’t running as expected?

Hello Markthe knife. In the dim and distant past I may have sampled Sharp Tools, but certainly not in the last 5-6 years. The Sharp Tools app is installed under Apps, but I was not aware of it until errors started to show up quite recently which identified Sharp tools errors.
I can't quite understand why it has apparently been dormant and then it suddenly attempts to do unauthorised switches. These are the automations that I refer to. I will do as you suggest and delete the Sharp Tools App

There was a change to sharptools in a recent hub firmware update.

So presumably the sharptools app has been sitting there on your hub since you installed it, however long ago that was.

And only recently (after the platform update), log errors started showing up, since you never configured sharptools on your hub.

I’ll say again though, you haven’t posted enough info in this thread to explain why sharptools is related to your simple automation rules not running as intended recently.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t a connection, just that it’s not apparent from what you’ve written so far here.

If you aren't actively using SharpTools, you can safely delete it. You can always re-install it later if you want to try things again.
