Hey folks - picked up an RGBGenie ZB-5004 remote (product link) to play around with. I got it paired, it appears to be linked (auto detected the RGBgenie controller ZB-5004) and it shows 4 component devices (Generic Component Dimmers). I have full logging turned on, but nothing is coming in on the logs when I hit any of the buttons on the remote at all (including the main power or the "scene buttons" at the bottom of the remote.
What am I doing wrong? Or is it just that I have an incorrect expectation in thinking that just pushing the buttons should generate an event in the logs? Thanks in advance!
Have you looked at the parent device for "pushed" events?
I have the ZB-5028 and it shows this:
I have 4 "Generic Component RGBW devices" (not sure why 3 on # of buttons though unless 0-3)
Great question - I have indeed looked. Literally the only event is "numberOfButtons" with a Value of "2". (Which I presume refers to the main power buttons)
Maybe hit "configure" on the parent device? Actually I think all the component devices are responding as intended on my setup.. mmmmm
note: my daughter uses the controller to change her colored light bulbs. Well she did for a bit then lost interest I think.
I tried that as well (again though, thanks for the suggestion). While that didn't do the trick, I did look in the main logs for the hubitat and found these go by when I hit the configure:
dev:3292022-01-05 16:09:41.033 warnEvent interval INCORRECT, recovery mode (Normal) ACTIVE! If this is shown every hour for the same device and doesn't go away after three times, the device has probably fallen off and require a quick press of the reset button or possibly even re-pairing. It MAY also return within 24 hours, so patience MIGHT pay off.

I'll note that I have reset the device a couple times and repaired it to see if that helped, and it did not.
I also have the ZB-5028 but am not getting all of the settings. I have tried removing and repairing and hitting the configure but no luck. I do have the remote paired up with mirror app to control a set of color changing bulbs but all I can do is turn the lights on/off. Any other suggestions to get this to change the bulb color?
@akramer2005 that looks the same as mine.. also am using the mirror app too - here is the setting for my EP01:
I know this is obvious but you have to press the correct button first before trying to change the colors.
edit: maybe reinstall the mirror app again.
Well I had reinstalled everything but the mirror app. I reinstalled it and that did the trick. Thank you.
