I have a virtual switch and a virtual contact switch to detect when my mail box is open and to allow Alexa to announce when I get home if I have mail.
however, with recent changes, my rules engines and Alexa routines have stopped working correctly. I have started rebuilding the routines. The one thing I cannot figure out how redo is at 2:00am to turn off the mail contact switch.
I have a garage door switch on my mailbox door. When it opens Alexa will toggle the virtual switch to on. Which will then set the virtual contact switch to open. Which then Alexa will see and announce mail has arrived and then turn off the switch.
At 5:00PM I have an app setup to check if the contact switch is open and have Alexa announce mail is waiting. I have a routine at 2:00am that resets my smart home devices like turn off lights, close garage doors, etc... I need to get that virtual contact to close.
When I try to set it up in the rules engine I keep getting conditions to check if it is open or close but no actions to open or close it.
