Set up C-8 on both wired and wifi networks

I have a C-8 hub running platform 2.3.6.146

I'd like to have my hub connected to both the wired ethernet and the wifi networks in my house. Is it possible to configure the hub to work that way?

When I try to connect to wifi using the network settings page, my hub is always assigned an address in the 169.254.x.x address space. I believe that this indicates that the hub is not receiving an address from the wifi hub (which is an eero dual-band router). Because it's using this local link subnet (which I'm guessing is self assigned when DHCP times out) the device cannot see anything on my actual ip subnet (which is 192.168.x.x)

I'm trying to implement this wired + wifi model because I understand that the hub works more reliably when connected via ethernet, but I also want to be able to control wifi devices

Is there a recommended way to accomplish this?

This is not recommended.

The hub doesn't have to be connected via WiFi to control WiFi devices. Being connected by ethernet to your WiFi router is sufficient.
