Hi - I don't use this anymore (I do all my automations in Node-RED). However, there are several apps that are better choices to using rules, including the built-in Thermostat Controller app.

Make your dumb smart thermostat smarter Thermostat Controller allows more control of a smart thermostat. It does this by creating a child virtual thermostat device, the controller thermostat.
