Does anyone else have these Sengled Smart Light Switches? I've had six of them, and five have devoured batteries. I've contacted Sengled, but all I get are automated messages and no returned messages. Is anyone else having these types of problems? Is there a fix? Out of thousands of good reviews, I don't see how I have bad luck.
If you mean the 4 button switch, Oh my what a piece of junk. I could never get it to stay paired and not kill the battery for more than a week on HE. Plus the buttons are garbage, have no travel, stick often and its impossible to know if you actually tapped the button or if it stuck. I gave up, even after a brand new warranty replacement, that was also a POS. I suspect that with HE the button is not initializing/pairing properly. The device does work fine on Zigbee2mqtt for some reason, has been solid for 6 months so far.
You could try watching the zigbee logs and see if the button is sending excessive messages, which would kill the battery
It's a shame because it's a nice looking device

And BTW the Hue V1 dimmer connected to HE is also problematic, at least for me, always drops off and eats batteries.
I've only be able to get one Hue V2 dimmer to work with HE, as when I connect multiple V2 dimmer buttons, they drop off. I heard they work great with a Hue Hub tho
I've had logging on but did not see any excessive messages. I've replaced the batteries in one of them twice that sat in my daughter's room. She did not use it, but the batteries just drained anyway. After finding some old posts on these, I think you are correct on these being junk, but I hoped there was a working solution.
I did purchase a Hue V2 dimmer. I had to pair it twice to get it to work. I've set up some scripts for it today, and now I'll see how it works after a few days. It's a nice touch to have a battery level indicator for it. The quality of the materials seems to be much more solid.
I also had one of these, bought my mistake - mine ate batteries too. I didn't even look to see its event volume, I just pulled it. I got it for $5 on ebay and I knew it was not something to put time into
Have you considered getting a Lutron switch/remote instead? They can be mounted like a switch, cost only in the $20 range and the battery lasts for years! Iām running over 10 years on my oldest one.
It does require a Lutron Pro 2 hub however which is likely in the $150 - $200 range I think. The hub will be paired locally with Hubitat and the switch will need to be manually added once. Mine works great from anywhere around the house where I need repeaters for my Z-Wave and Zigbee devices.
I have thought about the Lutron Pico but can't justify purchasing a hub to use it. I use other types of light switches that are not the Lutron brand. Currently, the Hue dimmer v2 is working fine without an additional hub, and I hope it stays that way.
