Sengled Element Color Plus Bulb Connects but Can't Be Controlled

I bought a 4-pack of these bulbs, and all are doing the same thing:

  1. Add bulb to Hubutat by adding new Zigbee device (Hubitat rev 2.3.4.122).
  2. It is detected and added immediately as a "Sengled Element Color Plus"
  3. After that, nothing. I cannot control the bulb at all - no on/off, no colors, nothing. One time I got a bulb to turn on and off once before it stopped responding, but that was it.

I tried all the Sengled and generic drivers available and nothing is working. I tested the bulb next to my Hubitat to make sure there was no signal issue.

Is there a different driver I should be using other than the Hubitat one? If so, where can I get it?

Thanks,
Eric

Try the built-in "Advanced Zigbee RGBW Bulb" driver with these bulbs. Be sure to click "Configure" on the device page after changing drivers.

Something I ran into with them is that they wonโ€™t work if you donโ€™t fill in the preferences and hit save. I canโ€™t remember which preference was the problem. It may have been transition time.

Thanks. I tried this - appreciate you reminding me to hit 'configure'. I always forget this.

Unfortunately it does not seem to be helping. I still can't do anything after discovery.

Will keep looking,
Eric

I just checked Sengled's website, and the model of the bulb's I have is E21-N1EA. I do not see that model listed in Hubitat.

Could these bulbs need a new driver?

Eric

This worked! But only when I changed the Transition Time and nothing else immediately after I discovered the bulb. Oddly specific.

Thanks!

Actually it only worked on one of the 4 bulbs I bought. The other 3 are still having the same problem - no control after the Zigbee pairing.

Any other ideas from anyone? Have enabled debug logging and see nothing unusual.

Thanks,
Eric

Only chiming in to say that I have a few of these around and they work without issue with the Sengled Color Plus driver. Pair, click configure on the device page, and they're good to go. Maybe try pairing them again by resetting the bulb and putting the hub in pairing mode. Don't need to delete the existing devices. They should show up as "found known device". Once there, go to the device page and hit configure. Then try just basic on/off commands.

Thanks - that did the trick. But you have to do it within ~15 seconds of the bulb being configured or it wouldn't work. I had to factory reset the bulbs as well.

Thanks again!
Eric

You just solved my problem, thank you so much. Anyone else having this issue follow the step in FriedCheese2006 post, the only thing I did different was using the Sengled Element Plus driver not the Color Plus.
