Sengled Element Classic recognized but not installed

I purchased 12 Sengled bulbs for use with 2 Hubitats. I have problems installing them with one, but the same bulb will work fine with the second. The first is c8 running 2.4.0.151, and the second is C-8 Pro otherwise I can not see any difference.

I have run the Zigbee add, as well as the avoid 3.0 repeaters and the key exchange in the open. All have the same log entries. I have a C7 that I could also test but that seems crazy to think that C-8 does not work with something but Pro and C-7 do.

I had a C8 hub doing that and it ended up being the hub. Hubitat replaced it under warranty and it fixed the Zigbee issues.

I especially had issues with Sengled bulbs, as those bulbs tend to be problematic on Hubitat in general (you can search for other post about Sengled bulbs here)

With the bad hub, I could get the bulbs to pair eventually, but then they would not stay paired. Well, at least the Sengled bulbs would not stay paired, everything else did. However, I was also experiencing Zigbee going down and just saying "Initializing" for Zigbee radio status every couple of days, though that did not start right off. A reboot would fix it, but it started happening more and more often.

My trick to get the bulbs connected during these issues was to go into Zigbee settings and press "Rebuild Network". Then I would try to pair the device as soon as the rebuild got done, and I was usually able to pair them.

I just wonder if your hub has an issue like mine did. If you can get them to pair by rebuilding network first, I'm curious if they stay paired.

It was also the Sengled Candelabra bulbs that gave me the most grief, as the standard size bulbs were not so much of an issue. Those would pair but still become unresponsive at times on their own, and usually come back, just not nearly as bad as the candelabra bulbs that wouldn't last through the day.

That is interesting. These are standard bulbs, and this HUB was my primary until I purchased the pro, and I wiped it and did a fresh install.
These are the standard bulbs, and I was able to install one bulb, but no others.

Ok, that is strange if the hub had been working before. Did you do a soft reset on the hub first before reusing it?

I did a hard reset, wiped the config and was going to sell it so I put it in a box. Then decided to use it at my summer home, so purchased all new bulbs. I thought there was something wrong with the bulbs so I brought one back to my house and tried it there.

I use several Sengled Element Classic bulbs in my setup using a C8 Pro and have had zero issues getting any of them to connect and zero issues keeping them on my network. Approximately 17 bulbs. That is an extremely strange issue.

Agreed, I have over 40 on my C8-pro, and I have several other Hubitat systems. It seems that it is something with this C8.

I tend to agree with user2574 it is almost like that C8 hub developed some type of issue.

I wonder if doing a soft reset now would help anything. Also, since the issue started, have you done a power cycle with leaving the hub off for >30s to reset the radios?
