I recently picked up a couple of these Sengled color bulbs and have tried three different scenarios that I would like to use them in. I'm finding that they work most of the time, but not all of the time and I wonder if I am doing this correctly. The biggest problem seems to be that the color is not correct some of the time. I would love it if I could get a second opinion. Thank you in advance!
Scenario 1: At 7 PM if we are home then set the color of the two lights to red and 100%. Then slowly fade each bulb down to zero over the course of 3 1/2 hours at 10 second intervals.
Scenario 2: At 6 AM if we are home then set the color of the bulbs to 2000 Kelvin and 1%. Then fade both bulbs up to 100% over 60 minutes with a 60 second interval
You didn't describe what is not working when things go wrong, so just a few thoughts. You can put the bulbs in a group and play with group messaging and other optimizations. In the first rule, you only have 100 levels of brightness. 210 minutes every 10 seconds is 1260(?) steps. 1160 of those steps won't change a thing but they will keep the zigbee channel busier than need be. (Even if you believe the red channel has 255 steps, 1200 is too many)
Thanks for the feedback. I mentioned that I'm having some issues with color consistency. I didn't know if there was a certain protocol to make sure that these color bulbs behave properly. For example, is it OK to have them turn off? And if so, are my rules set up properly so that the color changes before the lights turn on. I find that in the rules machine for fading in and out that there is no color option so am I doing it correctly by stating that the color should be set before the action of turning it on or off runs?
