Sengled color lights and upgrade to 2.4.1.151 on c-8 Pro

Today I did the firmware update from 2.4.0.151 to 2.4.1.151. on my C-8 Pro. It seemed everything worked ok. I did the Z-Wave update as well, all devices seemed ok, though I didn't check a few lights. Then I noticed some automations for dusk that change my Sengled Color lights (mix of legacy and non-legacy) to either on, off or a variation of brightness weren't working. I manually tried changing the lights statuses to on, off an other variations and they weren't working well. I tried re-pairing some, shut the hub down, pulled power for 5 minutes, tried them some more. I seemed to make some headway by hitting configure, then on, but then I had to hit configure again, then off, to turn them off. While that was slightly hit or miss, at least I could kind of control them by hitting configure in between on or off. I ended up going into diagnostics and reverting back to 2.4.0.151 and the Sengled lights are working as expected again. I'm not talking 1 or 2 of these lights, its about 12 of them - everyone I tried. I have about a couple hundred devices - mix of zigbee and z-wave. I did look at the logs, but they seemed non-existent for when I told a light to change that didn't.

I'm not asking for help yet as I do intend to try this upgrade again when I have more time to do so during the day when the family doesn't need the lights, but I am curious if anyone has noticed any issue with Sengled lights in particular.

I've recently migrated to the C-8 Pro from a "C-3" about a month or so ago (I've had a C-7 and the C-8 Pro collecting dust in their original packages for a while now) and have had no other problems with it. The C-3 just couldn't handle the load any longer.

On another note, since I did the z-wave js update, I'm assuming that was a firmware change, when I reverted back to 2.4.0.151, would the z-wave still be on the z-wave js firmware?

I don't remember seeing any other reports of that (there was a pretty lengthy beta before this release). However, 2.4.1 does offer a Zigbee firmware update for the C-8 Pro that has helped with some odd issues, this possibly being one. It's not downgradeable, but I don't remember hearing reports of problems for anyone who has tried, either. If you re-upgrade and still have problems, I'd consider that. And I know you're not looking for troubleshooting, but if you change your mind, sharing more information will help, including your Zigbee channel, power, and makeup of your network (routers vs end devices, etc.).

No, Z-Wave JS is a reversible software change. Downgrading to 2.4.0 will take you back to the "old" Z-Wave (also an option on 2.4.1). Separately, there is a Z-Wave radio firmware upgrade you can do, but it is recommended (and available) only if you're using Z-Wave JS. That firmware would not be downgradeable.

I have 2 singled lights that I use very often every day, and they are still working as expected after the update to 2.4.1.151. I was part of beta and didn’t have any issues then either.

Hopefully, you will be able to figure out the issue! What driver are you using?

I am using the Hubitat “Element Color Plus” driver.
