I am wondering why the Sengled bulbs (Element Plus) bulbs do not report their correct on/off state in the dashboard. The dashboard showed them On and they were all off. I had to go and open the door and they went on and then close the door and they went off and Then the dashboard changed and showed them all as off. I had opened and closed that door last night but the lights were off when I left.
Anyone know why the Sengled's do this or is it a dashboard thing?
Also what are the button selections "Color Pre-Staging" and "Level Pre-Staging" for on the Device page for the Sengled's and what do they actually do? thanks
All of my Element Plus and Color Plus Sengleds are reporting status changes on device pages and dashboards just fine.
Pre-staging, when selected, allows you to set color and/or levels without the bulbs turning on (like most other bulbs do). Is it possible you have pre-staging selected and you are only sending commands to change color or level without sending an actual 'ON' command?
Neither of them are selected. I didn't know these bulbs could do that, that's great. As you said that is a rarity. I have the bulbs being turned on/off by a door sensor. There are 3 bulbs and are part of a group. The door sensor turns the group on/off. I have the sylvania outlets in the same room as the bulbs but I don't think they would cause this. So I am not sure what could be doing this now.
I have two in a group that I just tested, and they reported as expected on the dashboard. Controlling from the group device, both bulbs showed on and off. Controlling a single bulb, showed on and off for the group device. I don't know what's going on in your setup, but I wouldn't think the outlets are responsible.
These drivers work quite well with the older and newer Osram/Sylvania rgbw lights. I am using setlevel 0 to turn off the lights and it turns them off in an instant and reports immediately on the device page. I have precolor and prelevel staging enabled. As long as youβre addressing a group you can turn them on with setlevel command, but individual bulbs you have to use the on command to turn on. You can turn off either with setlevel 0 it seems.
@bjcowles Thanks for the reply. I will keep an eye on them. I didn't think the outlets were a problem either.
@ogiewon I think I did that once but I will do it again. Thanks
@Ken_Fraleigh I am going to have to try the setLevel. I have a different bulb in a different room and it just might be the answer I have been looking for.
