I've bought a LOT of Sengled bulbs from Amazon. Just the basic Soft White Zigbee ones. They are all the same, but the 2-pack I just got in today looks suspicious. The housing on the bulbs is very thin and cheap compared to all the other bulbs. On all of the other bulbs, the housing feels heavy and thick like ceramic. On these two new bulbs, it is a very thin plastic and very, very light.
Also, when I paired these two bulbs, they didn't show up as Sengled bulbs, they just showed up as "Device". If I change the type to Sengled Element Classic, they seem to work, but I am concerned about the quality of the hardware and the differences from all of my other bulbs. Do you think they are fake?
Has anyone heard of Sengled manufacturing them differently than all the other ones?
Any info anyone has, the better!
All sengled bulbs will show sengled as the manufacturer in the data section of the driver.
If that's not the case, it's possible these were a return where someone swapped in some other bulb.
The bulbs say Sengled on them. They just seem really cheap compared to all of my other bulbs. Thatβs why I decided to post to see if anyone else has heard of either...
- Fake Sengled bulbs on Amazon
- Sengled changing their manufacturing process to the new, cheaper-feeling design
right I wasn't talking about what was printed on the box/bulb, what does the driver report?
The manufacturer is queried from the device firmware when the device is included.
can you post a screen shot of the data section of the driver details?

different internal model than the older ones, and some manufacturer specific clusters, but they appear to be legit from the fingerprint anyway.

They are definitely very, very cheap and light so I'm hoping they aren't cheaping out on quality if this is their new hardware!
