recently my C8 stopped seeing all of my sengled window and door sensors and has an increasingly hard time with my sengled bulbs. All of these worked fine on my C7. I have at least one Jasco zigbee outlet in each room where the bulbs/sensors are. I’m stumped. I’ve tried resetting each device to factory and starting again, rebuilding my zigbee network etc etc. I can get some sensors to “come back” and update their battery but no dice on the open/closed - which is kind of important. Any advice?
What channel is your zigbee on?
Channel 25 with a power level of 20
dial back the power to 12. Do you have any other zigbee hubs in the house?
No one central C8 Pro and a bunch of zigbee repeaters to maybe 23 zigbee sensors and 5 or so bulbs - all sengled. My other Zigbee stuff works fine - hue bulbs no bridge etc
Be careful of the hue bulbs, If they are 1.2 zll, they do not play nice with other stuff because they make bad repeaters and messengers. The exception are sengled bulbs which do not repeat. I would isolate any other 1.2 bulbs to their own mesh to avoid anything like that acting as a repeater/messenger.
Ok thanks - they are just the hue play light bars - I can’t tell if they repeat or not and they’ve never been an issue before. But I can remove them and see if that helps. I’ll also try reducing the zigbee power. I’ve thought about using my old C7 to run stuff upstairs and C8 down but does it make sense to separate the zigbee and zwave devices I have instead?
The more centralized the hub the better. I have a 3 floor 5600 sq ft house hub on second floor and it reaches everything.
Thanks yeah mine is in middle but also next to one of my routers and other network items. Plus we have an ADU nearby and I think their router uses overlapping zigbee channels ![]()
Can you lower the channel on that to 6 or below?
Unfortunately I don’t have access to their router. The crazy thing is the Hubitat will see the sengled devices initially then they’ll droop off and reset like they weren’t ever fully connected - for instance my bulbs will flash three times but then shortly after they flash like they were back to factory reset. This will cycle multiple times until I give up
Lowering the power of the zigbee seems to have helped. I put them each into pair mode and they came back to my hub after a few open/close of each window/door. Thanks for the help!
