Has anyone experienced these bulbs just randomly turning on?
I’m running a test right now. I have no triggers to turn this light on to see for sure if it’s turning on by itself.

The only time my Sengled Classic bulbs turn on by themselves is after the power is removed and then restored. Sengled built them this way because of many times these are installed in circuits managed by light switches.
Sort of. Is the light itself actually on or does the driver just report that it's on? It sounds possibly related to an issue I had with the Sengled driver. Are you using the Sengled driver or the generic zigbee driver?
Take a look a this thread: Sengled Element Classic driver wonky
I’m not seeing this happen, but I will qualify that I have a very busy house with 4 kids, the wife, and myself. I have been using the Sengled color plus driver with color prestaging enabled and level prestaging disabled. A brief power outage would turn them on if that has happened.
This may be the case. The fixture is your standard cheap utility fixture which is broken.
I'm going to replace this out and see what happens.
I'm using the Sengled Element Classic
Check the bottom of the device page to make sure it isn't being used in any other automations. I just found an oddity yesterday due to a switch move. A light kept turning off.
You could try changing to the generic driver for a while and see if that fixes the issue.
Never seen this, as others have mentioned could be a rule, power issues, or even a faulty bulb. Are you seeing this one just one? If so can you switch it to see if it's a location or bulb thing?
Bulb is 3 feet from hub if that.
I've changed the driver. However, I'm suspecting it's the fixture, but we'll see what the driver does.
The other bulb I have in my storage room is fine.
I had this when using the sengled driver. I switched back to the generic and it went away. They were flashing on and off! It was like my basement was haunted! Had a good laugh over it.
Thanks.
I haven’t seen anything today since I switched the driver.
Is there anything in the motion lighting app that will turn this light off if power is lost and power comes back on along with the light bulb?
No. Usually nothing with the apps. The bulbs are configured to default to on when power is lost and restored.
I understand that.
How does the motion lighting app work if the light is turned on but no motion is detected. Will the light turn off after the period of time still or does the motion sensor need to go active then inactive for the light to go off.
mik3 I had a bulb performing like that and I realize the problem was inside the socket, some bulbs are "short" and others are "larger" and in some sockets do not make a proper contact.
Try to check inside the socket if the contacts are touching correctly the bulb terminals.. I just had to raise the center contact a little bit and all is good now....
The wire inside the socket/fixture sometimes makes us to have a bad time as well....check them too.
Sorry for my English... technical words are more difficult to use/find for me sometimes
Please do not do this unless you are absolutely sure the power is turned OFF ![]()
The light will turn off when the motion sensor goes inactive and will delay for a set time of your choosing.
Remember to unplug the lamp cable when doing this, most times a lamp switch only breakes one of the live wires, so if you have a grounded lamp, it might get a bit electric for you.... ![]()

I've read all these posts, but my problem is a bit different. In early September '25, three different lamps all using Sengled bluetooth bulbs which came free with a number of Echo dot devices I had purchased two years before. They worked fine using the Alexa app for nearly two years, then three of the four started randomly turning off and on a few times a day. I reset the bulbs multiple times, nothing solved the problem. I finally decided to replace the bulbs with Zigbee bulbs. I spent quite a bit of time researching bulbs again since I couldn't find the Zigbee bulb brand (Sylvania Smart +) that have worked flawlessly for years. I wound up buying two Sengled Classic. Installed them in Hubitat yesterday. Last night, the SAME thing started happening with BOTH of the new zigbee bulbs in the same two lamps. They both are also installed devices in Alexa. Is it possible the Alexa app is buggy?
Sounds like Alexa “Hunches” is enabled inside the Alexa App on your mobile phone or tablet. Please disable Hunches within the Alexa app on your phone.
