Sendmail - Send email and text notifications, (notification device) no local server needed

you can also try to send one directly to me.. interested to see if it is yourisps email server.. that doesnt like something i assume and not verizons.

Sent to you directly and failed the same way. Saved preferences and also failed. PM'd you some logs...

Works Great!
Thanks very very much.

It's "Millah Time" as Bill Murray would say.

Congrats on working this out, resolving this makes improves the usability of this device on AT&T 100%. I had no idea you guys were having to deal w/dozens of "From" numbers.

MMS seems to be screwing up on me today. Text says 'downloading mms message' but then nothing happens or happens belatedly. Stuff like that. This is AT&T.

Anyone else?

I tried txt and it worked. I deleted the mms conversation. Went back to mms. Seems to be working again. Don't know.

ya att mms still working for all 3 in our household.. no suprised their servers seem weird and there is no docs on it.. could have been also a real mms that was big that hosed up all of them.. i have seen that and when it cannot download nothing comes through after it..

What's the trick I'm missing here? I set up the LGK Sendmail as a virtual device to use it in the Notifications app, and it does show up there as a device option.

Trying to configure it but it won't send out an email. I get the telnet: ok, then getting messages that the initial connect isn't working.

I have my own web server so I control the email servers. I'm using Thunderbird as an email client and am using the same login details. I also tried a couple variations of the host host name leaving it blank and using the domain name with and without an https:// and www.

just what is said it doesnt support encryption and you are using encryption ssl on that port on your mail server.. try the regular port 25 or reconfigure your mail server to not require encyrption.

new version on github

  • v 3.5.1 as someone pointed out the character map on hubitat is utf-8 not ascii so some special characters in emails were not being displayed correctly.

This does NOT work at all. Good attempt though. Cant find anything that WORKS...

It works perfectly for many using it, including me. It may not work for you, but if you provide more info we can determine if you have the necessary configuration and email account capabilities.

If you want help, you can provide info like a screen shot of how you set up the app on the sendmail driver page (leave out passwords, etc.,) and logs from your attempts using it.

See the post above for an example of providing info to assist in debugging an issue:

You can PM your logs to @kahn-hubitat directly if you prefer to avoid posting that info here.
