Seeking Thermostat advice - Centralite Pearl

I have a device called a Centralite 315700, I believe also known at the Centralite Pearl Thermostat.

This device has no Auto mode. It operates very nicely for the most part, it’s Zigbee 1.2 (ZHA) which sucks a little but it’s an endpoint so I’m okay with it.
The driver that works with it is ‘Generic Zigbee Thermostat’. Sadly, this driver exposes ‘Auto’ as a mode, which the unit doesn’t support. If you set to auto, it just sits there - sometimes will switch itself back to ‘Heat’ or ‘Cool’ by itself likely due to thermo activity rules etc. which isn’t that big of a deal.

Google initially said “use Centralite Pearl driver’. But that driver doesn’t exist in HE or HPM. (Any longer?)
Google next says ‘use Rules to manage it’, or offers ‘try Advanced Zigbee Thermostat’. The Advanced Zigbee Thermostat is also not available (any longer?).

I don’t like using Rules if I can avoid it, it’s already out of control on my environment. Has anyone seem the old Advanced Generic (was it ever exposed by HE in the public set?) or seen the Centralite Pearl driver?

maybe this post will help. It’s old but there’s a custom driver you can play around with.

thank you @navat604 .!! that was exactly what I was hoping for, a jumping off point. very appreciated!

If your thermostat doesn’t support auto mode, why would you set it to auto mode?

I have a centralite pearl too. It controls heat only for my boiler in the basement (we use mini-split A/Cs for room cooling).

It works fine for automations that set a heating set point. I don’t try to set it to auto, cool or fan only mode, because there is no reason to.

Problem solved?
