I have this (non-smart) centre retractive toggle switch and I want to use it to control some hue lights.
Requirements:
Zigbee
Fits behind light switch
Binds directly to hue lights (for optimal responsiveness)
Press up or down toggles lights on/off
Hold up/down brightens/dims lights
I would consider using two devices if necessary (one for up and one for down), as long as they both fit.
I tried wiring the switch to an Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 but I can't get it to work - I think there is no suitable driver available.

For Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 ( model:'lumi.switch.acn047' ) you can use @ dandanache 's driver :

Thanks I just tried that. But unless I'm mistaken, it doesn't seem to record when the switch is held, only when it is pressed. Does that sound right or is there something I'm missing?

Yes, the driver registers only a 'pushed' event.
Have you considered replacing the switch with a Zooz or Inovelli smart switch that would bind to the bulbs?

Considered it, but we really like the style of the toggle switches so trying to find a way to make them work. I'm surprised it has been so difficult, I thought it would be easy to find a suitable device that records pressed and held.

Sorry I meant we like the style of our particular toggle switches. Wish they just made a smart version! But thanks anyway
You definitely wouldn't like my five button picos cohabitating with traditional toggles.
