Seedan Zigbee Plugs wont connect

I have tried pairing, all the different ways I can think of. Reseting the Plug happens at a 5 count the plug turns on and off then flashes purple to red for a short time. I have two of these units and i got one to connect but it would not function correctly. I also added the drivers from here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jshimota01/hubitat/main/Drivers/ewelink_outlet/eWeLink-CMARS-Seedan.groovy
I am at a loss

It would be best to stick to one thread so we don't repeat steps or miss information.

If the device won't pair, the driver doesn't make any difference what you are using. Did you see anything in logs like the other thread describes?

Not sure what Log files, I did go through the Logs a minute ago, nothing that I could see. I have two of these devices and have been trying both most of the day. Each time I reset by holding count of 10, but most of the response from the device happens at a 5 count. Then as I said it flickers between purple-ish and red until i push the on-off button. I have also reset it then used it with a light plugged in. Once I turn it on with the button then the light goes on and off until i hit the button to stop it.

I don't have these devices, so I can't comment on the pairing lights and button presses, but if the live logs don't show anything, that isn't a good sign. There should be some evidence that there is a pairing in progress.

Can you check what channel your Zigbee is on? (Settings, Zigbee Details) Only use Channels 15 or 20.

Be sure you don't have another hub (Smartthings or Wink) in the vicinity. Zigbee and Wifi are in the same spectrum 2.4Ghz, so also don't put Hubitat close to a Wifi router as the Wifi is much more powerful than Zigbee radios.

You might try the other Zigbee channel than what it is on, shut the hub down from the Settings menu, pull the power plug from the wall and wait 1 minute. Reboot and see if that helps.

I Have the Hubitat about 10' from my Wifi router for that reason, channel is 20. I have also "rebooted" the hub a number of times. I'll try the "power down" now. I have about 10 devices running on the Hubitat as it stand and they all work great!

If one plug paired, it suggests the other is defective.

Are any of these working devices Zigbee or are they Zwave?

If Zigbee devices are known to work, then it is like Aaiyar says and a defective device, or you just aren't close enough with the device when pairing, or you are doing something wrong with the reset and pairing sequence of the device itself.

Neither of the plugs are working I have both Zigbee/Z-Wave devices, the outlet I am testing is about 10' from the Hub

I'll mess with it a bit more, I'm thinking of just getting different Smart Plugs, shouldn't be this difficult. Very minimal info on the devices themselves, what was in the box just dealt with Smart Things Hub/Amazon/Samsung Hub which I dont use... Thanks to all!

I don't have the instructions, nor can I find them online.

What did the instructions in the box say? The basic concept of pairing should be the same on most hubs, and the button press sequence on the device itself should work for all hubs.

Does it give a factory reset procedure? What else does it say about the color of the lights etc?

This is the only info close to these units: EWELINK SA-003-ZIGBEE CONTROL VIA MQTT

The info just says: 1. When your app cant find the device, you can "long press" the button for 5s to modify it.

Are you sure you got the zigbee version of these plugs and not the WiFi version?

I do not have Seedan plugs, but I have several plugs of similar design based on eWeLink technology. If they are Zigbee 3.0 plugs, they should be fully compatible with Hubitat (no app needed). Mine operate using the Generic Zigbee Outlet driver built into Hubitat.

As @aaiyar noted, Seedan produces 2.4 gHz WiFI plugs that have the same external design as the Zigbee plugs. Please confirm that you have the Zigbee plugs. Although Zigbee operates in the same frequency band as 2.4 gHz WiFI, the specific frequencies and protocols are different

Also, what Zigbee channel are you using for Hubitat? I think channel 20 is commonly used as it resides in the gap between WiFi Channels 6 and 11. That is what I use. If you are using another channel, you might be getting interference from WiFI. If you are using channels 25 or 26, some devices might not work on those channels.

When pairing Zigbee devices, I start out about 20 feet away from my hub. I put the hub in pairing mode. I put the device in pairing mode. Then I start walking directly toward the hub. Normally, by the time I get within 10 feet of the hub, it is properly connected. I then select to make sure the proper driver is selected. In this case, it is the Generic Zigbee Plug driver.

The eWeLink technology Zigbee 3.0 plugs are very effective Zigbee repeaters. That is the reason I purchased mine.

Yes these are M-001 Zigbee, Device and box both labeled as such. Zigbee is channel is 20. The reason for the purchase was the same "repeaters" Today I'm going to power down the hub. Then give it awhile to reboot itself. Then i'll try the walk approach! These are the only devices i have any issue with!

Recently received a box labeled Sonoff Zigbee. I even have pictures around here somewhere - the box was labeled Zigbee but I couldn't get anything from the units - and when I took a maginifying glass (I'm old) and looked at the label on the side of the device it was clearly marked 'WiFi 2.4'. This confuses a lot of people since Zigbee and Wifi work in the 2.4Ghz band and the chinese haven't learned how to clearly demarc this.
The vendor was very happy to swap and replace - and that was my fix. I suspect you've been bit by this confusion...
** found one pic - this came in a Zigbee box

Yea thought of that but they are labeled correctly, not to mention as a test I tried to set them up with the Smart Things app (WiFi) It doesn't see them because they are Zigbee. Thanks

Try adding them with the eWeLink app. AFAIK, integrating with SmartThings requires them to be first provisioned using the eWeLink app.

Did you ever get these to work. I'm currently having the same issue with the same product and about to return them.

Yea I did that eWeLink doesn't see them, they are Zigbee. I've gone through every process of resetting them. Think there an issue with both devices. Thanks for the help.

Yes they are working great, had to do with the timeframe of when they were first recognized by the Hub. I factory reset them (One at a time) then discovered each one separately without any other devices in action. I reset the unit then went and did the discovery from Hubitat took about three tries each.
