Now that my C8 in the House is working fine, I’d like to setup a C7 in the Shop. Does it need a seperate IP address? Will it link to the C8? I’ve as usual browsed thru multiple help posts but can’t seem to find something I understand. Please help!
The 2nd hub will need a separate IP address. The network controller should assign one automatically, but it is recommended to specify one if you can. If they are both on the same subnet, they can be linked via Hub Mesh.
Every network connected device needs its own IP. You have not found anything specific to Hubitat about this because it just how networking works for all devices. As @Sebastien pointed out, you usually don't even have to think or worry about this, the router handles it.
