Seasonal Z-Wave: disable or exclude?

What is your strategy for seasonal z-wave holiday lighting when it's time to pack everything up? For example, I have a bunch of Zooz ZEN05 outdoor plugs that I have pulled when I put my holiday lighting away. Can I just switch on "disabled" or is it better to plug each in and go through the exclusion steps?

I plug them in an indoor plug that is not used and close to the device’s usual spot.

I leave them plugged in and pause my pistons.
I tried packing them away for the season but it's a pain to stop the routines, exclude them and re-include them.
Beside that they get the mesh mad with unroutable devices.

If they were long range z-wave, mesh wouldn't be a concern.

Well I have a C7 so I’m out of luck with LR. Waiting for the C9 Pro with Thread before I upgrade.

I leave them where they are. The seasonal pistons are written to execute only during their seasonal timeframes. This keeps my Z-Wavw mesh stable and I don't believe the electrical load is sufficiently significant to worry about.
