I have a C8 hub. My Schlage zwave lock always seems to have issues. I reliably get the state of the lock via habitat when locking, unlocking, but unable to add/modify user codes from LCM. I have tried removing the device and reading it via zwave with the hub right next to the lock, leaving encryption enabled/disabled (hitting configure right after), nothing works. Just failed jobs.
Not much for error messages. It is as if the lock is just in transmit only. Anyway to get newer firmware on the block to improve reliability?
After successfully fetching all current 5 codes the job just gets stuck and fails.
And which lock model exactly. I have two BE469ZP I got used, and was warned they may be problematic. Working perfectly fine here using the system driver. Running a configure or fetching all the codes is pretty intense on the mesh, it is a LOT of back and forth commands.
I paired mine around 30ft from the hub no issues.
Disabling security will make it fail to pair, locks require security to pair.
An include does configure automatically so if you click it again right away all you are doing is stressing out the mesh with more commands.
Not the same encryptiin
That is s2 securuty. There is also a security setting or encryption for lock codes. Thatb is what we are talkibg about and i genrally leave it off. I also dont use lcm.. you can add remove codes direct from device panel which i find works better
Whe pairing it successfully is setup with S2 encryption. The hubitat LCM app has an option to enable/disable encryption. I have tried both settings and I can see the app attempting to change the settings but as mentioned the lock seems to ignore all commands from the LCM.
Out of frustration, I excluded the zwave device, did a factory reset on the lock, cleared all the default code, and re-paired the lock. Paring is fine but the behavior is the same. Logs are not very helpful as the lock is reporting no errors.
I guess I can just add/modify codes from the lock directly but that is very inconvenient and will mean all codes are active at all times.
This only "encrypts" the lock codes on the hub, it does not change any settings on the device.
What driver/type are you using for the device? I think that is the older non-plus device, so the driver made for the ZP (plus) wont work right. Hubitat took them off the compatibility list due to issues so I cannot see what driver it used to have as the default. I am going to edit your thread title so maybe someone else with the same model will see this and chime in.
Typically they were found on eBay, in the form of either used working locks for sale, or in used broken locks where the PCB was still functional. Used to be cheap and not too hard to find, lately I've heard much harder to find, or more expensive.
I had an issue with the Schlage lock would not take codes from LCM after migrating to C8. I factory reset the lock to remove all inputed codes. Tried inputing codes with the lock device itself. Still no change. Reset the lock again to remove codes and input all codes from just the LCM. Everything worked as it should afterwards. Im not sure if encryption or other options were used or not used. It may have been luck or coincidence but still working correctly so far. Hope this helps.
