Schlage Connect Device Types

There are two Device type options which to choose from. Generic zwave lock, or Schlage BE468/BE469 Lock. Any advantage or disadvantage to either one?

I used to use the Schlage BE468/BE469 driver when I have a z-wave Schlage lock.

Schlage makes a BE468/469 zwave lock and a BE468/469 zigbee lock. The BE468/469 listed as a device type is only for the Zwave not the zigbee. If you end up with the schlage be468/469 zigbee lock make sure to choose "Generic Zigbee Lock".

Been there, done that. LOL

I first bought the zwave version on amazon, did not work so great. Did a return and got the zigbee version, I think it was close to the same price. Zigbee version worked 100% right away and has never had a problem. Just my experience. YMMV

To clarify, there is no BE469 zigbee lock. The only zigbee model is BE468GBAK.

That is correct, I couldn't remember exactly what the model number was. Thanks for the clarification.

When I did get the zigbee lock (BE468GBAK) it did not stop me from choosing the build in device by the name "Schlage BE468/BE469 Lock". This was obviously a mistake since this is for a zwave device not a zigbee device. LOL

Yeah - the system will let you pick any driver, which is both useful and a potential hindrance.
