I recent decided to explore Scenes and Transitions -- previously, my Rule Machine rules just set the lights they needed directly, which was a pain when I wanted to change something. I also like being able to semi-gradually change the lighting level rather than having the lights, say, snap to full brightness as soon as the TV turns off.
However, I'm having some issues (and a low WAF) from the fact that the levels chosen by the Scene Transition don't appear to be consistently moving in the right direction, leading the lights to brighten, dim, brighten again, and so on. They end up at the right level when all is said and done, but the path looks like a drunken sailor.
Consider this transition: The rule first sets a scene where the lights are at 20%, then transitions to another where they're at 50%:

It almost looks like there might be two transitions happening at the same time here, except that the logs only show a single invocation of this transition.
Another of the involved devices is mostly smooth, but is interesting because it reports some of the steps as [digital] and others as [physical], when I guarantee no one was touching the physical buttons. But even assuming the device were doing something weird, not even the digital steps are smooth:
