Samsung Button delay after returning home

I'm not really sure where to put this so just asking it here.

I have a Samsung Button that works fine at my home for opening and closing my garage door, but when I take it in my car and come home, it doesn't work for a while. I'm not totally sure how long, but long enough that I take out my phone and just use the app. Always works when I leave so it's definitely a timing thing.

I read somewhere that it takes a while to associate with the hub when it's been disconnected but can't seem to find that. True, anyone have more details? Is there a setting I can use to make that not happen, or happen within a few seconds?

If I need to tell the Hub to start looking for it I could set up a rule to use the geofence on my phone it's not always looking, but not sure if that's the right direction.

Let me get this correct, you have the Samsung button in your car? If so it's going into panic mode trying to find the Z-wave network when returning. You may want to re-think using the button in this manner since it wasn't designed to be "mobile".

Using the mobile app makes more sense for this use case.

In addition to what ronv42 said, that battery is going to die very quickly.

Ah, that's what I was trying to use it for, so sounds like a no go on getting it to work. Looks like it's going to be the app then.

Thanks!
