So my hue hub started having issues today, and after not getting anywhere for over an hour I decided to move my lights to Hubitat while I continue to look into it.
I know the bulbs are bad repeaters that can lose messages, I just wanted to ask if there is anybody running the bulbs on Hubitat and what their experience has been like.
I am in a flat, so things are not that spread out, would that mean things would not need to be repeated?
Are there any benefits to running the bulbs of Hubitat?
I ran bulbs on my HE hub and yes I did have issues. They are CREE bulbs (which are kinda crap anyway) but when I moved them to the Hue hub they worked fine, and they still do. The newer Hue brand bulbs are zigbee 3.0 and should not have any issues running on HE, but I don't know when Hue changed their design...
Aside from being poor repeaters when they're turned on, the problem with light bulbs is they can usually be disconnected from power with a wall switch or a switch on the fixture itself. When they're off they REALLY make poor repeaters and if they are already being used by other devices as a repeater when they lose power... well, you see the issue.
A replacement Hue hub is pretty cheap...
Thanks.
This is more about the hue bulbs, I thought it was only them that had issues. I've been running none hue bulbs fine (Innr, Ledviance Smarter+)
I should be able to get the hue hub working, I just wanted to make sure I had lights tonight.
I also wanted to experiment.
Longer term I'm hoping for a new HE model, and the run the bulbs on my current hub.
I think the issue is with zll bulbs in general not brand specific. But hey if it works why mess with it!
