I have a basic rule that is to send a message when the door is unlocked. The hub is at a different location but my phone is configured as a device on both hubs. When I test the rule using the Run Actions. I never receive the message. Any thoughts? Thanks
I forgot to mention that the hub is a C8 hub.
Go to Devices (on the left) then navigate to the device detail page for your phone (the same name as the one you selected in your rule). Type something in the text box under the "Device Notification" command, then hit the button to run the command, which should send the notification.
Did that work? If not, something is wrong with the mobile app device, and the rule -- or any app -- won't be able to send a notification, either. Logging out of and back into the mobile app or just re-selecting your hub (and the mobile app device if/when prompted) may help, assuming this device is one from the Hubitat mobile app. Otherwise, make sure you have the right device selected and that something else isn't going on, like notifications are disabled on your phone
Thanks, that helped. The problem seems to be that my mobile app has to be connected to the hub that sends the text. When I switched the mobile app to the remote hub, I got the message. I would like to be able to received messages from both hubs.
The mobile app can only be associated with one hub at a time. If you need more, you'll need to "share" a single notification device between two hubs (Hub Mesh might work if they're on the same network) or use a different solution for one hub, like Pushover or similar.
Got it. I will look into Pushover. Thanks for the help.
