Rules stop working

Ever since the following upgrade, my rules have stopped working after 1 to 2 days. Originally I thought it was the old rule base maybe just wasn't working correctly. But now after recreating with the new rule base, I get the same problem after 2-3 days. The timed rules simply don't fire as they're supposed to such as evening lights coming on.

Platform Version:

hub-2.2.8.156
C-7

Anyone else having the issue and is there any corrective measure outside rolling back or restarting every 2 days?

I'm seeing something on my C5. The past two days a rule failed to trigger but it my be a conflict between the predicated condition and my trigger. I'm moving back to Rule Machine Legacy until I figure it out.

I was on legacy. That was where I first noticed. I switched to the new rules which equally fail. My simple rules also fail for timed door lock.

Restarting unit resolves issues for 2-3 days.

Seems to be primarily timer based. But, not 100%

Everything worked flawlessly prior to last upgrade.

My first thought here is a corrupted database. Easy to fix if this is the case. Just save a backup on your local machine and then restore it from file.

Ok I will try it. Thanks.

This did not resolve. Same issue. 3-4 days after restart, the timed rules for mode change stop working. This is a problem since last update ONLY. I can't believe no one else has experienced...

In the rules’ settings, at the bottom is there something in the “Scheduled Jobs” table? If not, that would be the cause.

Have you tried to Stop the rule and then restart it (Click on “Done” again). That should re-schedule the timed actions if they are not under “Scheduled Jobs”.

There is no scheduled jobs under my automated day mode setting. I would think restarting hubitat would be equivalent to restarting the rule? As well as following the instructions to backup and restore. Again, this all worked fine until the last upgrade. What change?

I have seen and experienced this before. Sometimes with a platform update, the schedules are lost. Rebooting doesn’t help.

Sometimes stopping and restarting the rule will re-schedule it. Other times, removing and adding the trigger will work. Worst case, the rule needs to be re-created - though maybe cloning it would also work.

I can guarantee you that restarting fixes this. I've had to do it every 2-3 days the result. Restarting the rule also fixes the situation.

I recreated the rules from the old to the new at the onset. Same symptoms.

It must be something different that what I have seen in the past then. Very odd!

Maybe @bravenel has an idea?

I'm not seeing any rules posted, or logs.

Need something tangible to go on.

This is one of the timed that fails regularly after 3 days. This is incredibly simple and worked fine prior to this most recent release as stated. I even took it from the old rules and converted to new rules, still fails exactly the same way after 2-3 days. I will need to gather logs during a failure. For now I have been restarting at every possible opportunity during the day to ensure rules work. I may try restoring to previous build and restore old rules to confirm I am right...

I have a simple one for door lock of being unlocked after 5 min. It fails along with any other timed after 2-3 days.

Evening didn't fire tonight. This is broken. It worked no issue prior to this release.

Deleted log

Would you please be so kind as to post logs with screenshots, not copy/paste. Also, for the one that is scheduled at 6:00, I need to see the bottom of its App Status page (gear icon), where it shows Scheduled Jobs. If you catch it failing, seeing that page at that point in time would be most helpful.

Honestly, I have no idea why you are experiencing this. These clearly should not just fail after a few days. We haven't seen this behavior before.

By chance, have you done a Download-Backup/Soft Reset/Restore-from Backup sequence on this hub? If not, you might try that.

We may need to look at you database to dig into what is failing if this persists.

I have just performed backup, soft reset, restore.

I will see what happens in next 72 hrs and post results.

I mentioned previously that there was nothing under schedule job but I'll be glad to paste it screenshot attached. Oh wait..wtf..see attached. Now there is something..

Evening has no scheduled:

FYI. Spoke to buddy that bought c7 at the same time and he claims he's having time issues as well. I'll confirm if same symptoms.

Something looks to be clogging up the scheduler - tasks keep starting but not finishing.

Could you please try disabling all user apps except for Chromecast Helper and see if that makes a difference? I'm going to investigate further, but this is the first thing to try.

Wouldn't it make more sense to roll back, confirm things worked fine as I suspect and confirm the latest build broke my rules/system. By the way, how do you actually disable all I see is a remove? I do not want to have to remove and readdI think you know the pains..

I have HA, blue iris, ecobee, Google, integration if that helps. HA is only for dashboard.

On the top right, click on the “x”

That will reveal a “Disable” column. Add a check to the items that you want to disable.
